About Dutch-Way Farm Market
Dutch-Way traces its roots to 1972, when David Z. Martin opened a small store in Myerstown, Pennsylvania, selling milk and eggs from the family farm. In 1978, David G. Martin took over and transformed the operation from a farmer's market into a full supermarket. Additional locations followed in Gap and Schaefferstown, and by 2001, Cliff Snader, Jeff Snader, and Rich High had assumed majority ownership and day-to-day management, operating publicly as Dutch-Way Farm Market. The chain remains a beloved Lancaster County institution, distinguished by in-house meat cutting, scratch-baked goods, housemade deli salads and soups, and a strong emphasis on locally grown and locally made products. A fourth location with a café opened in Ephrata in 2022. Each store features an attached family restaurant, a rarity among independent grocers and a hallmark of the Dutch-Way experience.
